Completely off the subject of Kit cars, I'm trying to get a drop kerb done here and I'm totally losing the will to live, trying to follow all the shit to get planning. I'd rather do another IVA set of forms!!!! Because I live on a 'Classified Road' I have to go through 'Full planning permission'

Is there anyone out there who has done this and could give me a hand? PLEASE  ???

Put a dollop of concrete in the gutter, and deny all knowledge of it ;D ;D ;D

As tempting as that is, I do need to get it done properly, even your Ratbag doesn't like the height of the kerb :P

I want to get this done at some point as well.

Or half a fence post is another good one

My mum had that problem too. She had a sunken garden and had a concrete base made to bring the level up to the pavement, the garage was put on the base and the drop kerb got refused because it would be too near a corner, about 40 feet away. It wasn't even a main road! Gert dollop of concrete, nobody said anything.

Brian,

The full planning process is because you live on what is called a primary route.  Planning law compels the council to do this to keep the highway free flowing.  I took a look at the on-line website - see the link below and it looks like these are processed pretty quickly.  I would have thought they will be pretty keen to do this to keep parking off the highway and as there are many accesses already it is likely you will get it.  The Councils normally have approved contractors to perform the work and it is all done in a few hours.

Take a look at this link, type in drop kerb and you will see all of the recent applications - usually granted and usually quickly.  If you have problems let me know.
