You will recall my son Joe (Type R) from the BKCC karting events, well he turned 17 in Feb and has been having driving lessons since then.

Well being a "Lovely Daddy" as I keep reminding him, I have bought him his first car a 1.2 Renault Clio which we pick up on Saturday.  How times have changed from when I turned 17 "back in the olden days" and was ecstatic with my 1975 Skoda S110.  Difference being that I had to work from 16 and buy it myself for the princely sum of £150 and it cost £80 to insure TPF&T.

I digress, this is your advance warning to clear the roads by Saturday or be prepared to jump out the way if you see a Sliver Clio coming with L plates.

I hate to think what his insurance will be for the Clio then.  :'(

I will be in the van on saturday so I will be ok as we van driver's own the road.  :P

Though in the westy I'm always getting people pulling out in front of me as they don't see me, so I'm used to taking avoiding actions. But I will be extra careful when i'm around your way. ;D

All the best with the lessons, no doubt you will be teaching him all your good habits as well then Ken ;)

Funnily enough, my first car was a van.
