Daley Down Under

G'day all,

Just a quick post to let you know that all is well down under - Autumn has arrived and temps now in low 20s so a bit cooler and all good.  Really enjoying reading what's going on in the club and envious of all those upcoming track day bookings.  BKCC Forum helps me stay sane and means I can avoid local on-line news covering latest Aussie Rules results, Aussie wins first Masters, etc.

Bit of news on my two cars:

Firstly - Marlboro Car.  The QLD Transport independent engineer has finally signed off all the mods so car should be registered next week and I will be able to pick the car up and drive home!!!!!!!!!  Only 13 months after it was collected.  The workshop have done a great job and have really perservered on my behalf.  I fully expected them to give up but not a bit of it.  In the end we have had to replace all the braided brake hoses for rubber and steel pipe - bit of a pain but no attached ADR compliance tag on braided hoses means no road use.  When the car is home, I need to drop the ride height back down by 75mm, refit the rear wing, reinstall the full harness belts and reattach the aero screen.  At least there's no annual MOT here so I wont have to keep removing and refitting things.  No emissions or noise tests either.  Looking forward to getting out on a track day at Lakeside (local track) where lap record is 56s.  Think the Spire might be 2 or 3 secs off that - I'll let you know how it goes in due course.

Secondly - the Moke.  Now fully road legal and turning out to be a great car for QLD use.  The modified 1100cc motor pulls really well and suspension mods means you almost fall out the car round bends!!!  I'll post a couple of photos when I'm not constrained by the work security protocols.

Keep in touch and cheers for now,

Adrian

Fantastic news on your Marlboro car should be good to get it back on the track (and road) good luck with beating the track time  ::) And the Moke, good to hear that's working out well too.

Don't worry about those temps dropping we're just hoping it get that High! here this year  ;D

75mm! Wow, must look a bit strange jacked up like that.  Good news though that you can low it again and add/remove all the other bits to get it back to how it was plus no MOT to worry about either!

Look forward to seeing how you get on a Lakeside compared to the big V8 cars.  :D

Shame job is not going to plan, are you confident of something else there? Don't start thinking the grass is greener here, it probably isn't.
