Toyota 4A-GE Engines etc

Camber Dave

I am having a clear out of Toyota engines from my garage after changing the donor for my project.
Before I eBay the following I thought that I would offer them here to you guys first.    I can deliver locally Free.

•   A very good 1600 4A-GE that I removed from an MR 2 when I installed a 20 valve engine about 6 years ago. This engine kept stalling when cold but ran well when up to temperature. I found that water had been leaking into the ECU from a leak in the car boot seal. This may have be the cause of the stalling.

•   A T50 Gearbox with bellhousing from an AE86 RWD Corolla. The synchro on third gear is weak but otherwise quiet. As you probably know this box has a cracking set of ratios unlike the Ford Mk9 normally used. It is also lighter and smaller than the Ford unit
I have searched ebay for 12 months to establish its value and only one was listed and sold at £350

•   A 4A-GE that came with twin 40 Dellorto's. With it is a Ford Base plate, spindle and advance bob weights. This means that it can run on contacts and a coil or after market Electronic ignition. An ECU not therefore required this would be ideal for a basic Locost kitcar.

•   A bellhousing that fits 4A-GE engine to T50 box. With it is a 25 mm Steel adaptor to fit to a Mk 9 Ford box. It came fitted to the engine above.

•   A 4A-GE taken from a AE86 Corolla. This engine has been stored for about 10 years and has is rings stuck so it needs a rebuild. Probably needs a bore hone and rings / bearings.

•   A 4A-GE to DCOE inlet manifold from Raw Engineering. With it are  2 Dellorto's stripped and sleeved as throttle bodies. It would also take Webbers or Jenvey throttle bodies.

•   Various manifolds, a good Toyota ECU, an AE89 engine harness and T50 front prop (box to centre bearing).

•   2 MR2 Mk One gearboxes. One was bought cheap as a space model to design and build a chassis around. The seller threw in a second box with good internals to make a good one from the parts.

Ring or email me with your interest and questions and we can negotiate  a price for the bits you want. Some bits will be very cheap! Dave 07977 948883 - trackdevelopments@googlemail.com

Anything left will go on the Locost forum next week and as individual units on eBay later.

Ammended - Thanks Tim
