First pre-89 import on the road

Hi all,

Just for general interest really.  The Rolls is finally on the road in QLD.  I bought the car on 24th Sept so its taken nearly 5 months to complete the process.  I did my first wedding yesterday (although chauffeurs cap was more fancy dress than formal - thanks ebay).  The last 2 weeks have been spent almost constantly fettling - lots of little jobs and one major one (clearing all the surface rust from underneath and re-undersealing).  All done now.  Its amazing the 1980s technology - everything is microprocessor controlled (seats, mirrors, A/C, fueling, etc).  Quite glad the 1900 page service manual was a download away on the internet.

Phil - I think the wedding was a one off. However, if the car won't sell then you never know.
