Slick Tyres

I have been running Dunlop 170x575x13 slick tyres for a few years now which have been brilliant as I normally have 15" 888's on so these are very close to the same diameter for my set up.

The problem I have is that it is looking like they don't do these any more & Steve Harkness can only get 535 which are too small.

So does anybody know where I can get anything similar down the second hand range? I'm even considering 15" slicks if that is easier?
Or worse case where the best place is to get new ones?
Thanks Colin.

Colin,

15 inch slicks are almost impossible to source from memory (esp 2nd hand).  Its a few years back but a company called city slicks (ebay username) used to do 13 inch Michelin slicks which were excellent and inc courier service were only 60GBP a set of 4.

Colin,

I've been running the same tyres as you on the front, but I've just bought a pair of Hankook 180/550/13's off ebay for £15 each
They might be a bit of a squeeze as far as width is concerned, when I get them I'll measure them up and let you know if they might be an option for you.

Cheers Dave. they might be ok. Just waiting to see what Ed thinks with his.  :)

Colin, I got my 185/550/13's today, and I think they will be too wide for your 6" rims - but I might be wrong. They are very square walled compared to the Dunlops and have have a greater width of rubber in contact with the road, so they look similar to the 205 Dunlops I use on the rear. I might be able to squeeze them in the space available on the fronts but I wont know until I get them on a rim.

I will post some pics when I get time to show you what I mean, it will be handy if we can get them to fit as there are quite a few about 8)

Thanks mate. I have noticed that they are easy to get hold of too. Once you have tried it I may even borrow one of your wheels to see how they are with mine if that's ok. I will take into account the wheel difference of course.  :)

Will do Colin, but don't hold your breath as I've still got a few Dunlops in stock - my sheds looking a bit like Kwik Fit at the moment ;D

Have a look at these, would be fine on your 6" rims but a smaller diameter.

I can collect from Cheltenham if you need and meet somewhere to deliver if that helps?

Thanks Steve but that is the size which is too small in diameter for my car.  :)
