When my car gets hot the gearbox gets very sticky to the point I have to push it a few times to change gear. I use SAE75W/90 GLS5 Part Synthetic.
I got in contact with Morris Oil who we can get a discount from and they suggested Lodexol Ultra drive 80w-90 Only problem is the smallest can is 25 liters. ??? Over £100.00 a tin.

Anybody know where I can get a small quantity or an equivalent?

Gary RH7

Cheers Dave.
It does not state "Ultra Drive" so I am checking with the Morris contact to check if it is the same.

No not ultradrive, that is sold in large quantities.

Have a look on their site and maybe contact them

Different site but same contact details Dave. These are the ones I have been talking to.

They said;

"This could be the only issue with that as I think the smallest quantity we do is 25 litres which I did not realise so my apologies.
We may be at a dead end as I cannot think of anything else that will solve your problem".

Try contacting

Graham Batt Ltd
36 Feeder Rd, Bristol, City of Bristol BS2 0SE

They have been the local VW experts for ages, so may well use ultradrive or an equivalent. They may sell you a small quantity from bulk. Worth a try, especially if you turn up with a nice clean container

These guys sell it though I have no idea if they sell in smaller quantities but must be worth giving them a ring and speaking nicely to them? Phone number is on their website.....

Must be  a Triumph trait as mine used to do that as well. Not much help I know but at least I can sympathise   ::) ::)

Thanks for your input guys.

The Morris contact says the sales team are going to start doing ULTRADRIVE in smaller quantities and he also said it must be the ULTRADRIVE to fix my problem.

I have also been told it could be lack of lubricaton to the gearlever base where it goes into the selectors by a Dolomite expert.

Gary,

If the selector is a problem try Molybdenum grease or Lithium grease on the moving parts.  I guess Copper Slip would work well too.  When I used to trade cars I used to pop the gear lever as a matter of course and lube underneath.  I always got an improvement for a few minutes work
