Hey chaps

Been tinkering lots lately, trying to sort niggly bits out on the Tiger.

The Speedo was high on the list as it rarely works, i located the sensor sat on top the prop shaft (under gear lever), the wiring was poor so repaired that but still speedo isn't very good.

Where/How do you guys mount the sensor?  I've heard you can buy a kit for the type-9 gearbox, http://www.burtonpower.com/ford-electronic-speedo-sensor-revfss.html

But im unsure exactly where to locate this or if its the best way forward?

P.S Fuel tank guage works as follow; Full = Full tank  /  1/2 = empy tank, any suggestions?

Running old mk2 ETB gauges

i have one of those fitted to my type 9 but i have a 90 deg adapter fitted so it doesn't hit the inside of the tunnel. It still connects to the speedo output

Similar to the above pic

Burton have them £115 inc. :o

I have a long cable, exits the tunnel and runs under my legs, goes up under the scuttle, behind the dash and into the speedo. Was only temporary(3 years) but works a treat. ;D ;D

I improved my sender readings by trial and error in bending the float arm on the sender. Got it pretty much right but always carry a can of fuel and refuel at the 1/4 tank mark. Just in case. ;)

I had my speedo cable and 90deg adapter made up by speedycables and they were spot on with price and quality.

'The Gaffer'

Just go electronic. Stick a magnet and sensor to a drive shaft, calibrate and off you go. Better still, buy a second hand Road Angel and just use the speedo on it. No wires 8)
