I finished a hard, hot day tiling a bath room in Bath on friday and was greeted by the site of my nice dark blue van which now had scratches all down the side from front wing to back door, even on the bonnet....right down to the under coat!! >:( >:(

It was obviously kids as it was not straight lines but swirls and crosses and they are on holiday at the moment......little bast**ds!!

But what can you do if you did catch them doing it......I know what I would like to do............ >:( >:(

Quarrycars

Evil little sods, did they do any other vehicles or just yours?  How high are the scraches, may give a clue to how big they are.

paintman

Don't know about other vehicles, mine was parked in a lane at the back of some houses off the main road so only used by people on foot.

Young kids or a midget I would say.....i'm back there again monday, they better not do the other side...... >:(

'The Gaffer'

Sorry to hear that mate, some kids just dont accpreciate the value of stuff these days or understand the distress an action like this can cause. Love to see their reactions if their games consol, games and monitor were all scratched up.

stupott901

why do they do it for hey, its just stupid mindless damage, there should be more police about to stop this

Furore Phil

All the police could do is tell them it's naughty and not to do it again.

I'm seriosly considering fitting CCTV to my car. Should be simple enough to fit a proximity detector to start the recording. At least if you catch them it should be possible to get the parents to pay for a respray.

'Mendip Wurzel'

I think vandalism is particularly worrying for Kitcar owners. I don't like leaving my Kitcar unless I can see it, which is a shame really as it often spoils the fun of owning the car and it is very limiting where you can leave the thing....

Good idea Phil, I think there would be a lot of buyers for a system like that.

I have the same worry with the kids round here.

Ive just had my Merc Sprinter camper reprayed black.  Cost £2,400. Even though Ive got a camera looking onto it.  It always seems to happen when the thing isnt on.

Up to now Ive had nothing, but it will happen, I know it.

They seem to think its fun.   I just hope I dont catch em because there will be no holding back.

Now's the time to be wary......school hols......they're soon get bored and up to what their parents consider as "mischief" .........VANDELISM to you and me. >:( >:(
