Does Your Kit Car Have Feelings?

The only reason I ask is that my car has been working quite well recently.  But on Sunday it idled a bit low and I said some rude things to it.  Shortly after that the indicators stopped working completely.

The obvious explanation is that i've upset her feelings.  Any one else had any failures due to upsetting your cars mechanical emotions?  How do you make amends: polishing/cleaning/upgrading?

WALNUT

Of course my kit car has feelings, I can hear it grumble : Oh no not him again: every time I get in it.

Wish I could hear mine grumble! It hasn't even turned a wheel yet :(

I blame myself, I really need to stop this work travel and get on with the build, it's so close to finishing it's painful :), but the trouble is, work does pay the bills. Life can be so cruel.....

'The Gaffer'

I always whisper "Sorry" if I crunch a gear, does that count?

I love my car, but I don't know if it loves me.........seems to at the moment 'cause she's not misbehaving but maybe its all the pampering it gets. ::)

Furore Phil

My Furore hasn't been born yet - but it still has feelings. If I swear near it you can gurantee the next bolt or whatever will pop out at the wrong moment and roll into some unreachable place.

I think my Peugeot has feelings, unfortunately it's a teenager now. It hates getting up in the morning, especially if it's cold, costs a fortune to look after and drinks like a fish. If I leave it out in the rain - forget it, only 3 cylinders fire. Oddly though - if I play some good tunes on the stereo it flies like an angel.

You should not anthropomorphise cars (or computers)......They don't like it!

Cars do have feelings and are linked to our minds somehow. The first problem is when we give them a name. Giveing it a females name is worse and as usual from day one they want time and money spent on them. Males dont moan they just get on with it and eventually will need sorting.  They like us to look after and put our hands over them and we like it too. They play up so we can get out of the house and get into the garage, it must be a mutual agreement I reckon. My GT of 7 years that I sold earlier this year to buy the GTM started mucking me about the day after I put it up for sale(electrical problems). It knew that I didn't love it anymore so after a couple of years of no trouble at all seemed odd. The problem was sorted out for the new owner though and I just hope it got him to London OK. Over many years tinkering around with cars I have now come to the conclusion "If its not broke dont fix it".We are natural born tinkerer's and thats where the problems start I think.
