Another invitation from our friends at BPMC to join them on their new event - Independence Day Touring Assembly.  No need to wear the stars & stripes but join us for a run from The Parkway pub in Stoke Gifford over a convoy route to finish to The Bookbarn, Wells Road, Hallatrow where we will put on a car display and be able to browse for books and enjoy refreshments.

We will also be joined by Bristol Hot Rods so you will be able to hear us all coming from miles away, should be quite an ocassion!  ;D

As the event is organised by the BPMC the route will be given to us on the night by the organiser.  All we have to do is be at the The Parkway pub by 7.15pm.

Better than a lot of boy bands plus a great stage show. Wouldn't be my first choice of live act but if the tickets were cheaper I'd definately go :P

Bulldog Bri

Got the thumbs up to leave work early on Monday so will be there in time for the run :)

I had to come back as my westfield was overheating badly. Looks like the water box I have is leaking. Really gutted as it was a perfect evening

Jeff

Bulldog Bri

Welcome to the club Jeff. Never mind, there'll be plenty of other runs. Feel free to post up some pics and tell us more about yourself and car...  ::)

Always another time Jeff, as Bri says say hello in the intro section if you like.

A very good night out, lots of interesting cars to see. Especially a chain driven V8 from the 30's doing a doughnut in the carpark :o

Forgot my phone so anyone else taking pics please post some up.

Good turnout I thought.....loved the Hotrods and specials.......liked the one with the  lacquered rusty body which used it as an unusual "paintjob"! ;D

Dixie

Really enjoyed last evening, my favourite was the bright Green hotrod.

Un-usual for me to be able attend a weekday event, I am normally working away.

Any photo's anyone?

Bulldog Bri

We did get some pics, though they were taken by Anna's son (aged 5) I've picked out the better ones  ;)

Yeah not bad for a young un, think you can tell which ones he took by the height angle ;)

I liked the way the run out was organised, plus the idea of a named charity for thier club was a good idea.

Perhaps we could do some events along a similar theme?  I tend to like supporting the less well known charities like dog & Cats homes etc.  My reason being that although the big ones like Cancer research etc are great causes that everyone should support, sometimes the little ones that do equally good work get forgotten.

Phil, can the club have a nominated charity?  Or does that get into all sorts of legal stuff?

Regards

Great idea Mark, don't think there will be any legal implications, but will check. The real problem will be getting everyone to agree on a charity.

I therefore propose the Great Western Air Ambulance. It is a funded totally by public donations. http://www.greatwesternairambulance.com/page/what-we-do

I hope none of us ever need their services, but they do a great job saving a lot of peoples lives.

Will start a new thread once I have made a few enquiries.
