Sumov8

Dont worry about the forecast you know its going to be wrong again.

Hoping to get a big start on the wiring of Alan's dutton tomorrow morning so we will not be at the square for breakfast :'( :'(

Hairy Santa

will prob pop down -  for a breakfast or 2

finger crossed for the weather

Grin-a-lot

Well its supposed to be dry on Sunday; anyone planning on a chilly trip out to Queen's Square tomorrow?

paintman

The're fore-casting " freezing drizzle" in my area but Stupott, Dixie, Tony and myself are off to The Bath and West for the car show so can't make it sorry.     Sure your get a response......your in Bristol.

Dazzer

What time ya'll meeting up, been out all day today so if i can get another day pass i'll try to pop down. :D

Sumov8

Following yesterday in the Wyedean Forest I did not have a pass to go out today, should not have stopped and watched the rugby on the way home,
wife taped it and was waiting for me, bad books again!!

Grin-a-lot

Popped into Bristol this morning, great selection of cars in Queen's Square:

I think this was a russian version of the USS Enterprise

Grin-a-lot

Right, 4 weeks since last time.  Weather dependent I'll be going; anyone else?

The wife's away so a weekend of cars, mountain bikes and beer planned (or was that pizza, pilsner and porn)...

Bulldog Bri

If I can get the clutch free on the Bulldog in time, Yes. tried it today after being sat out the front for the winter, only able to put it in gear with the engine off! So guessing the clutch has got extremly damp and seized in some way.  :'(

Dazzer

If the weather's dry then I'll venture down for my first visit to the square and a coffee, anyone else from north of the city going.......

Grin-a-lot

Dazzer

I'll be heading in from Bradley Stoke if people fancy mtg somewhere before hand......

Grin-a-lot

Yeah I'm more than happy to meet first, let's see how the weather works out for the next few days and if it's still looking good then we can make a plan.

Sumov8

Yep. myself and Alan plan to go down, starting from Bradley Stoke as well, once I pick him up from Woodhouse Park

Where do you fancy meeting North of Bristol and at what time? :P

Grin-a-lot

Well if you're coming from Woodhouse to Bradley Stoke I'm happy to drive over to Bradley Stoke and meet you, just pick somewhere to meet thats nice and obvious and speed bump free!

Not sure if the big Tesco out there has bumps or not, I don't think it does.

Sumov8

Unfortunately Tesco has masive speed bumps, but we could meet in the Hilton hotel car park as you come off the motorway roundabout turn left at the next roundabout and then left at the lights into the Hilton, I dont think there are any bumps in there.

What time are people up and about?

I think you have to pay for the Hilton Car park. There always seems to be available parking on the road just outside of the entrance.

Dazzer

The only place's I can think of off hand are either outside the Hilton, Aztec West centre with large flat car park or North Bristol Rugby Club club.....

Grin-a-lot

How about:

a. 3 Brooks pub near the entrance road to the big Tesco complex
b.  The aldi/lidl (I forget which it is) carpark by the Bradley Stoke Way/ Brook Way roundabout
c.  Leisure centre carpark.
d.  Toby Carvery carpark on Woodlands Lane.

Whichever we chose (I'm easy) we can pick up the old Gloucester road out to Hambrock and M32 into town.

Happy to meet whenever, Queen Square seems to get a bit busier from about 9.15/9.30 if the helps. If we want to go early and take a more scenic route into town then happy with that too.

Dazzer

I vote for the Aldi car park, easy access and flat :D As for the time, i'll go with the majority as i've not been down before so will take the advice of the experienced.... ;D

Sumov8

O.K Lets make it the Aldi car park at 08:30 ?

Then we can just follow the sun down to the square

Any one else jioning us?

Dazzer

08.30 is good for me, provided i dont finish work too late sat night. looking forward to it  ;D

Grin-a-lot

See you at Aldi 0830! I'll be in a blue Westfield.

Moleman

I'm only 5 min's away from you guys to join the convoy but i'm sorry to say I can't do it this sunday so maybe next time.  :'(
I think it falls on the weston car show in April, if you guys are going then I'm up for going down in convoy to that if anyone else is? :)

Hairy Santa

I will prob pop down  - look at the cars - have a chat - nice breakfasts  ;D

or might  call back after to the Sunday Market and grab some grub there at the cafe

That's a shame you can't make it but hopefully next time!  Next months is the same day as WSM so hopefully we can arrange a mega-convoy from Bristol.  If not we can sort one for those that want to.

Any other takers for tomorrow; its gunna be good!

Bulldog Bri

We will down but only in the tin top, 3 cars and not one roadworthy (yet)  ::)

What time will you be at Priddy?

Should be there around 12.30 to 1.00pm.  If anyone wants to meet-up, PM me Sunday morning and leave your phone number so we don't miss each other. (we're leaving Frome 10.30 so PM me by 10.am pls.)

Hairy Santa

I would have loved to have joined you chaps but dont think it wise until Colin and I remap the engine, I have a new 3 bar sensor onboard and am taking the feed from the turbo air box now instead of from the butterflys , plus now have full length exhaust to the rear of the car , which I finished today,  to try and get under the 100 decibel mark for the track day this coming Friday.

all the new mods have somewhat thown the mixtures though the rev range all over the place, rich and lean, so dont want to chance a melted  piston on a long run

have a good time

see you soon

Dixie

Sumov8

Good turn out on the square despite a misty start at Bradley Stoke 4 cars made the short run into town
A variety of cars making the morning very worth while.

Great to get out to with a few from the club today; sorry I didn't make it to Priddy but a great day for a run out.

Huge turnout at Queen's Square today and nice to finally meet Dazzer and Jamie (who should join the club as well)!  Nice to see (and hear) SumoV8 as well; we'll be able to see the Dutton soon enough as well!

Glad to see Santa and the 'busa made it, nice to know the chassis wasn't at 240v anymore and the exhaust made from kitchen utensils and scrap really needs to be seen to be believed!

Would like to see the exhaust Pete?

Here's a couple of shots but now has another pipe to the rear of the car, and the new polished Wilwood billet calipers with home brewed brackets - I even managed to lighten the calipers

gone from 6" to 8" with twin perforated pipes inside

All the metal from the scrap yard - old shogun nudge bar and 2 mixing pots from kitchen and old sheet of alloy from I believe a door  all welded together by Nick (Ali Wizard)

and the newly chromed wishbones, I'm in the process of making new bottom ones to match the top ones I made, then chrome them  - should knock around another kilo off with both sides done
