Sorry to hear that, It's really crap & it does make your blood boil & even if they catch them they will prob only get a slapped wrist which don't make you feel any better.
But i'm glad the hood & motorbike was left alone.

Had the same thing happen some years back... my home is now like Fort Knox with garage and sheds alarmed, recorded CCTV, and multi locks on all doors and we have a large fierce dog...... well maybe not that fierce, or large for that matter. She doesn't like fluorescent jackets or the postman, or anybody wearing strange hats so if any undesirables do turn up I just hope they are wearing a fluorescent jackets and a strange hat, because they will certainly not be welcome.

Similar thing happend to me up in York. I ended up fitting a padlock and a clasp with hidden fixings to the up & over. Think we should all takew this as a warning and think about locks on garages etc.

Not sure about alarms though, have you ever gone around to a house with an alarm going ? I think big beefy locks work best.

Best guard dog I ever saw was my mum's mastif called Krystal. 14 stone of mussle, looked real fierce and barked loudly. Problem was if any strangers actually came into the house she would run & hide in a corner and probbaly widdle herself! Soft as a bag of cotton wool.

when I built my garage, I showed all the little kids in that played down the back lane I had wireless CCTV in there linked to video equipment in the house. Now they are older and the garage has lots of stuff in there, they all leave mine alone, nearly every other garage has been broken into or tried.

Maybe get a sticker on the garage door just saying CCTV inside.  ::)

Best to have a camera outside too as they will probably just mask up if they know there is one inside.

A camera outside can be covered before anything has been seen by it, anyone breaking into the garage has to get to the back of the garage first and cover 'THEM' as I have 2, up and by then they've been seen by one or the other. Caught.  :P
