Hi Everyone.....

My name is Simon Warner and I am one of the Organisers / Admins of The Rally For Heroes 2012

Right here is an offer for you all..

How do the MANAGEMENT TEAM ON HERE fancy organising a Bistol Kit Car Event at Weston Super Mare on Sunday 6th May (Bank Holiday Weekend)

Normal price for parking in W.S.M over the Bank Holiday for the day is approx £10 + ..... BUT we will secure you parking on the sea-front grassed area for £5.00 for the whole day, we will dedicate an area for your club.

The £5.00 goes directly to Royal British Legion and Help For Heroes.

This would be a great way to publicise your club, we will be having the Press there who will be doing a full spread of our event.

The event is to raise awareness of OUR up and coming trip 18th - 25th August 2012 and will have a HIGH press coverage.

We have at present invited several car clubs to this event and have already had the Ford Focus ST and RS club say they are coming, along with Jaguar / TVR / BMW South Western OC / Bristol Ford Focus OC / Subaru OC / etc

Back-ground to Rally For Heroes can be found on our site.
www.rallyforheroes.com

This is even shown on the Weston Super Mare Events Website... http://www.weston-super-mare.com/whats_on_in_weston

I am one of the main organisers of the event and we have already get all 50 entrants for the event in August.

We are attempting to raise £100,000 for the Royal British Legion / Help For Heroes (50/50 split) by the end of our event.

What I need to know from you all is if you would like to attend and what sort of size area you want us to reserve for you. (e.g. No. Cars)

Please can someone start an event for this if you are going to attend, then please P.M. me with numbers by Saturday 28th April.

Kind Regards

Simon

Simon.

Your event clashes with the biggest kit car show of the year so sadly we wont be attending as a club. Hope it goes well.

Thanks for the reply Gaffer.

I realise it clashes with the kit car event, I was just inviting your members along if they were not going to the main event and were local to WSM.

If anyone does decide to attend then it is a worthy cause and there is still parking available in the random club area.

Kind regards
Simon

Hi all,

I had a very positive site meeting with the RBL and the Council at WSM on 18 April. WSM intends to make as big a fuss as they can with the Mayor and the Chairman of the RBL turning out to meet us once we are settled in. I have agreed the laydown for the event with our RBL supporters.

The RBL Riders will be providing half a dozen or so outriders during our RFH convoy from Yeovil to WSM.

The Legion is providing their Mobile Display Unit (Google it if you want to see what it is like) which has a large screen in which our RFH video will be played on a loop.

There should be a mobile Punch and Judy show which will do a stint on the RFH Hardstand which should draw in members of the public and a mysterious Dragon Lady (the mind boggles!)
They will be sourcing local talent to provide us with live music; there will also be RBL's Bike Radio and CDs if required.
There will be a local Market – comprising currently of 16 stalls – encapsulating the Spirit of Somerset immediately adjacent to our hard stand which will also include face painting.

The local classic car club is turning out in force as is the VW Camper Van Club.

Also a classic car convoy is coming down from Birmingham to join us!

Take up from other car clubs has been modest but those that have signed up are bringing lots of cars. We have so far:
Bristol FFOC - 25 cars
Jensons owners club - 15 cars
Subaru owners club (Bath Branch) - 15 cars
BMW Southwestern owners club - 10 cars
Ford ST club – 15-20 Cars
TVR club – about 15 cars
JAG - not sure on numbers (But estimate 10+)
Piston Heads – about 30+

We are awaiting replies from:
Cobra Sports Car Club (Forum)
Ferrari Owners Club (Bristol Area- Direct contact with HQ)
Lamboghini Owners Club (South West District)
Porsche Owners Club (National)
Aston Martin (Area 13 Somerset)
And the Weston-Super-Mare Endurance Car Club

We are still plugging away at Car Clubs and from experience if the weather is good many people will turn up at short notice as the WSM team are publicising this all over the City and exploiting the media as much as they can.

The bikes on the other hand show considerable promise; the RBL Riders often use the WSM Beach Lawns for meets and they have had up to 1200 bikes!

The RBL will be doing all the Marshalling and will be collecting on our behalf.

So thank you for reading and hope some of you can attend...

Regards
Simon

BUMP....

10 Days to go till event, FINGERS CROSSED WITH THE WEATHER.

We are astill having a great response to this event via other car clubs, and I wouldn't want any of you to miss it at all.

Even if you don't come as a CLUB, and you just want to pop down and see other forms of cars we will still take your £5.00 and allow you to park on the Random Turn-up area (All money goes to two great causes)

Just let me know either via PM or Email and I will inform our Marshal's to expect you and point you in the correct direction.

Kind Regards
Pinky (Simon)

Stupott and I had a very nice day out by the seaside with our wifes riding shotgun.   Good turnout of cars but mostly hot-hatches, performance cars, and a few Cobras and a Westfield.

We found a great place for a sunday carvery......could hardly move after!!!!

Sorry we missed you (Fullpint)......think we were in the pub when you were there as we had a good look for you.....or were you in your hard top???

Many thanks to The Bristol Kit Car Club for turning up.

What an amazing turn out from all the other clubs that were involved.

And what can I say about the weather, I think we struck a deal and the sun was kind to us that day.

Our Final total raised as of today was £3162.59 (After a recount)

We are totally amazed at the turnout and support that we got for the day.

You can have a look at some of the amazing photos that were taken on the day if you visit our WSM RFH Photobucket page.

More pictures will be added on a daily basis over the next week.
