Does anyone know of a local, ish company that can supply a flat windscreen for a Hood, it must be correctly E marked, I have a screen for a template but it is only kitemarked. havent got a quote from GBS yet, probably pricey from them though.

'Mendip Wurzel'

Windscreens are about £85 from GBS + postage. I bought mine secondhand from ebay.

Don't know of any local suppliers but I expect there are some....

Roman Glass in Frome said they would cut one for my Hood for £35 while i waited!!!  Don't know about the kite mark thou. ::)

I got one from roman glass (I think, it used to be chislets), it was cut and sent away to be toughened. It has the E mark in the bottom right hand corner.

I can't say price wise, as I had it shaped more than the original so as to fit the frame better, and some holes drilled.

Hi Guys, new here, just bought Nathan's GTS W7DE from the chap he sold it to.  Live in Cheltneham but work in Temple Quay.

GTS never made a screen for this.  I have a template from a chap who had one of these made but his guy has gone out of business.  Just spoken to Roman Glass and they will cut me the right glass to the template, but they do not do the Ali surround.  Anyone know where I can get a frame made for it please?   Then I will just need to get some supports and the rubbers.

Thanks in advance.  See you at some meets / track days.

Don't know anyone that could make one up, but as most frames are in two parts ie sides and top as one part and bottom as another, how about trying some aluminium extrusion suppliers. If you can find some of the right profile and get it formed around the top corners then fit the base as a separate piece. Just athought.

Just on the side pete, how did Friday go?? :)

peterw

Didn't happen, I've got a wheel but hasn't arrived yet, probably leave it till I get back from Hols, so 3 weeks or so time, still not exactly the weather for open top motoring!!!!!

YellaBelly

Fair play. Meant to ask before, is it a 'free' fail or have you got to cough up more dough?

peterw

Unfortunately it's not on the free list, so another £90. but my mum said there would be days like that :P :P

YellaBelly

Hey ho! Still, at least it's a guaranteed pass once the wheel's on mate :)

9 days and counting.....:o :o Hope I get a leniant tester (who also has a 1/2 day :D)

Off to Texas for the week working so it'll take my mind off it, especially as it's 95 deg in the daytime and 75 at night over there at the moment :) Have to see if I can find a local kit car club :D
