Well done Garry and thanks for all your efforts with accommodation etc...  Look forward to seeing the new car. ;)

fullpint

What you need mate is a 12 man tent in your garden ready for July. Then when we all come over we can help build the kit-car  ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D
I'm hoping its going to be a nice dry weekend cause some of us will be topless..

garry h

Thanks guys trouble is I only have a window box and would be worried you would all fall off the window sill  ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D.
Will get some pics on asap.
Cheers

Moleman

Thanks Gary. I'm looking at maybe the second weeked in July so fri 12th - sun 14th. (I can't do the first week I was originally looking at).
You didn't have to buy another car to join the convoy I'm sure you guys could have jumped in any spare seats we had.  :)
Though fair play & we will see it pretty soon.  ;D

Dixie

I can't do the 5th&6th July, we're off to see Robby Williams at Wembley.

M

Moleman

No probs Dixie. I can't do that weekend now either. So we are looking at 12th-14th July as a provisional date so far.

garry h

Me and the wife will be up for the Saturday as well be good to a decent trip in the summer

Moleman

I have spoke to the Shanklin Hotel today & depending on if Gary H can come up with anything better with his local knowledge this is where we are at.

They have put these double rooms on hold for us.
For 12th & 13th July - 1, me +1
                                2, Grin +1
                                3,Sumo v8 +1
                                4,Foggy
For the 13th July -      1, Gaffa +1
                                2,Paintman +1
                                3,Dixie +1
                                4,Stupott +1

With Yellowbelly as a maybe & fullpint coming down for the day on saturday.

They are giving me a price for the double room with & without partner with return ferry for the single night this monday along with double room for both nights without partner so we have prices to suit everyone.

Whatever the cost we will need to put down a £50 deposit which is for the room & ferry crossing. Which they have said would be best to pay sooner than later as the rooms are easy to hold but they can't hold the ferry tickets.

So once I have all the details from Shanklin Hotel on Monday (or if Garry knows of any other better Hotel)
I will start a new tread with all the details & who is going on what day & if there is anyone else who would like to go?
We probably would be able to add people on later but they may have to go on a different ferry crossing due to the time of year.
I will also be wanting people to send me cheques or a payment through Paypal for the £50 deposit. The details of that I will give you through pm next week. So i can do the group booking for us all.
Hope this is ok with everyone? feel free to let me know any concerns you might have.
Colin.

fullpint

Nice work Colin.
My only main concern is our summer time weather  ;D ;D ;D ;D
Once dates are confirmed I will book my ferry ticket for the Saturday morning. I may bring the wife along if I can find a doggy sitter for the day :D
Looking forward to this event..

Grin-a-lot

Do we have to provide registration/car details?  The reason I ask is that if the weather's that bad can I swap to a tintop and still come?

fullpint

I expect the ferry company will ask for those.
Think you can buy an open ticket for the day which means you
can just turn up and drive on if there is room.
It will be dry!! I will take my brolly haha

Moleman

I will find out what details is needed for ferry & hotel before putting the final details out next week, as well as car details & if you can change them.  :)

Moleman

I will be getting more info tomorrow but here is the latest update.
For two nights B&B will be £146 per person based on two people sharing a double room & in one car for the ferry return ticket. so £292 in total.
For one night B&B will be £95 per person based on two people sharing a double room & in one car with ferry return ticket. so £190 in total.
For one night B&B will be £95 per person with a extra £30 charge for one person in one car on the ferry. so £125 in total.
They didn't send me the quote for one person for two nights which I will get tomorrow but I'm gessing £146+£30ferry charge. so £176 (just a gess).

Also car info can be changed & is not a problem if your car changes between now & july.   ;D

Moleman

I wont get the info until next week now.
I have just spent the last 2hrs trying to find anything cheaper but they are either not big enough for all off us, fully booked or have very poor reviews.
If anyone wishes to try & does find something cheaper then please feel free to send me the details & I will ring them monday to see if they can give us a better deal.  :)

garry h

Hi, I am still looking into accomodation here for you all too.
If you could let me know how many there will definitely be, give or take a few, then I can make sure Im looking at hotels/B&Bs big enough for you all.

Keep up the good work!  ;) ;D

Moleman

Thanks Gary.
Its looking like 4 doubles for both night & 3 doubles for sat at the mo.  :)

Sumov8

We are still up for a double, maybe my lad if the wife doesnt find any shops on the internet!! :-[

Moleman

Am I right in thinking everyone wants a double room with double occupancy?

Last thing I need to arrange is the ferry crossing, so what time are people thinking? Thinking about on the Friday going from Lymington and then we can drive via the new forest.
Also the people going Saturday what time would you like the ferry crossing? Please let me know as soon as possible. So I can do all the final plans and I will start a new thread with all the details and then I will be asking for the £50 deposits, this covers room and ferry crossings.

Moleman

URGENT INFO PLEASE!!!  :D :D :D :D
Hi guys can you please let me know a rough time you would like the ferry crossings & if you are happy with crossing at Lymington or would rather a different location?
So I can start a new tread with all the final details & start collecting the deposit money as alot of hotels are getting booked up & they won't hold our rooms forever.
I have been trying other hotels but haven't found anything cheaper that isn't fully booked.
Many thanks Colin.

YellaBelly

Doesn't look like we are going to make it Colin :(

I was looking forward to seeing the Island after all these years too.

Sumov8

Colin

I dont mind which ferry, it will be a good run to either   :-*

fullpint

I was going to book a ferry from Lyminton. Sail time about 9ish and returning about 5ish (back home for 7). I don't mind booking this my-self Colin since I'm only there for the day. Should be able to meet up around 10 at the hotel  ;D

Moleman

Sorry to hear that Yellabelly. Thanks for letting me know though.  :(
It will prob be best to make your own crossing arrangements for the sat then Fullpint sinse your the only one going for the day. So we will see you for breaky at the Hotel.  ;D

Moleman

Final details will now be posted on a new thread so please see the new thread to sign up  :D

'The Gaffer'
