New Zetec in!

I have just got my new engine in and running. Just got a bit of tidying up to do - the engine needs raising and levelling on its mounts ideally, but it's a bit awkward as the oil filter will foul against the steering column, so it might end up staying where it is. Also the bottom hose needs modifying as you can see by one of the photos, the hose is kinked going into the water pump.

It's taken a few hours of fettling as a lot of bits didn't quite fit but I'm really chuffed with the end result.

 8) Looking good mate.. Just one thing!! Get that alternator bracket painted  :D :D :D :D
Defo get that bottom hose mod done asap.. Tidy job. You have every right to be chuffed.. ;D

Nice job Ed! makes me think I ought to get my Zetec built and swap the Pinto for it over the winter  :-\ Problem is it's a swap sides-job, exhaust etc.

Hmmmm, let me think.......

Great work, Ed.

Hopefully see you on the track soon!

Mmm, sounds ominous, Colin.  ;)  Looks like you've gone down the upgrade route then?  :D

....either that or your going back to carbs!!  ::)

Ed, Is it fully running ready for the road then?

Moleman

I'm hoping to pick up another Duratec next week. Rob. Yes it is a upgrade. I will tell you more about it when I picked it up. I has bigger Jenvey trottle bodies already on which is not compatible with my old webcon Alpha throttle bodies & ECU as they aint big enough.  :P

It's fully up and running, but without an MOT it's going to be run in on track - which some say, is the best way to do it :o

Would love to keep upgrading but I don't think my car can justify the cost of TB's etc. I can get better bang for my buck by a bit of head work and high lift cams, which Raceline say will easily get me 190 bhp - that should give me enough grunt to break plenty of other stuff on the car ;D

Moleman - good luck with the upgrde, sounds like fun 8)

Hairy Santa

great news Ed

I would take a spare Oil filter to change after the first lap or two, well worth it for the price of a filter

Have fun  :)

Well Done Ed, excellent progress.

Just need to sign the "test to destruction" contract with Ford to provide them with some valuable data.  Once you have completed that, Pirelli are in need of all the help they can get and you are just the man for the job. :o

HOW DARE YOU ............   to suggest I might be somewhat mechanically unsympathetic - outrageous :o :o :o ;D ;D ;D

No, I believe Jeremy Clarkson has the Pirelli job. If a tyre can survive him it will probably survive an entire F1 season! Dunno about his condom idea though. ;D
