Hi Guys

A charity tunnel run is being planned and organised by my wife workplace, Lloyds Banking Group (don't all hiss at the same time !!) to raise money for a bid to buy one of the Gromits that can be seen around Bristol, when they come up for auction.

If successful at the auction, the Gromit will be placed in the Lloyds building and the money will go to the Bristol Children's Hospital and, if unsuccessful, the money will still go to the same charity.

The Gromit Tunnel Run

Charity car run through tunnels around Bristol
Take a run with other petrol heads through the best place to hear the noise of your car, tunnels! The route will take in many excellent locations and allow us to fully experience the audible pleasure of various models/makes of cars.
Funds raised will be used to bid for one of the Bristol Gromit's but, ultimately, will go to the Bristol Children's Hospital charity.
Your £10 entry fee donation will also entitle you to free entry into a raffle for :-
•   Ist Prize – Bristol Audi 2 days use of a demo car (excluding R8 ) fully fuelled and insured.
•   2nd Prize – Signed and Framed photo of Paul Di Resta in his F1 Force India
•   Other prizes include a Bentley Teddy, Bentley Umbrella, Champagne, Wine & Chocolates

Phil can't you get a sound track of engine noises as you can make proper use of that sound system of your's!

Out of interest, does anyone know what these tunnels are like?  I'm interested in the surface particularly from a ground clearance point of view as I have very little on the Westfield.  Don't mine if it is a little dusty so long as I don't rip the bottom of the car out!

I don't know the route yet but we are  talking road tunnels so I don't see any issues regarding ground clearance other than the normal.

Final arrangements for the Gromit Tunnel Run this Sunday are set out below for info:

•   Start at Queens Square with registration at 10.00am – aiming for an 11.00am start.
•   Please look out for the following cars where you can pay your donations, get your prize draw tickets and details of the route:
o   Red Fiat Coupe 20vt – S98 DHW
o   Petrol Blue TVR Chimera – L119 BVP
•   Will return to Queens Square at the end of the run so you have an opportunity to visit Auto Italia
•   Prize Draw will take place at Queens Square at 4.00pm.  Don't worry if you can't make it – we will ensure you get your prizes to you so please make sure you give us the correct contact details!

Thanks to those of you that have registered your interest.  We're really looking forward to catching up with you on the day.

This really is a worthwhile cause with the money going toward the Wallace & Gromit appeal.  This year they are focusing on raising money to build better family facilities for children suffering with cancer so that their families can stay with them.  It will also ensure that they have ensuite bathrooms to allow for some privacy and dignity as they are undergoing their treatment.
