How cold is it? The front grill of Jeep leaves frozen impression in North Carolina parking lot.

It is is a great pic.  It reminds me of when I went to Alaska on business years ago.

My host said "Welcome to the land of the Golden Rainbow"

I looked confused so he said "Step outside to use the bathroom - you'll have to snap it off!"

I also learned not to grab a door-handle with a bare hand and to resist drinking from a bottle or can unless you really didn't want a bottom lip! He then poured hot coffee from his flask and threw it in the air - it just turned immediately into a dark ice cloud.  Boots soles had to be stitched because stuck on soles became brittle and would snap off immediately.  Anything you put to your ear like a phone had to be smeared with petroleum jelly.  I said that sound messy but he showed me at those temperatures it was stick-solid like a candle.  I never moan about the cold here anymore.
