I have put this in things that work because I didn't think it would work as well as it did.

I was looking for something to play music in my kit and after looking at amplifiers and speakers for my mobile and coming up with all kinds of rubbish I came up with this.

Dont know if any of you have tried something like this but it WORKS

Bluetooth works great with the smartphone. Hands free works perfectly and it is loud enough for inside the kit.

For the first test I just used blue-tak on the center of the dash. It would be better in front of me or just a bit to the left to get to the controls.

Not sure of the final fix but I need it removable as it is such a useful bit of kit to use elsewhere with laptop or tablet etc.

That actually looks very good Gary. Velcro is surprisingly strong I find and obviously re-usable over and over. Or if the unit has enough weight to it, non-slip or anti-slip matting works well. I use it with my GPS speedo unit sometimes. Doesn't leave any marks and can be hidden away afterwards with no permanent item (ie velco strips) left on the dash to spoil it's sleek look!

If you had a nice piece in black (or dash colour) the length and width of the dash then you could have the unit where you like at any time and also your passenger could have a fiddle with it while you drive safely! You can also plonk your phone or bluetooth device alongside it with no fear of either sliding off around camp corner!!!

EGR valve cleaner

Well my Honda diesel got sick and it declared P1237 in a fault code - Low Turbo pressure.  Well that is as near as engine codes get. 

It drove like a Morris Minor with the handbrake on and Chihuahua stuck in the air intake!

I actually had two faults - the first was fuel starvation because main dealer to whom I paid a kings ransom had never actually changed the diesel filter cos it was too difficult.  I bled a lot but I got it done and it was a little better. A couple of my fingers are beginning to grow back now.

The second fault was a stuck Exhaust Gas Recirculating valve.  That cuts exhaust emissions and stops it being called a VW (topical humour).  When it cokes-up it can get stuck partially open and steals turbo pressure at high revs.  But being a Honda it is more complex than that and it also affects the Swirl control which makes the airflow in the combustion chamber circulate at low revs.  The EGR valve sticking makes that stick too.  So that is three faults from one issue. 

I used Wynns Aerosol EGR3 spray cleaner to fix it.  Fix the revs at 1500 rpm on a warm engine.  Inject the EGR3 inside the air-filter.  I drilled a hole and then taped it afterwards to make it easy.  3 squirts at 3 second intervals and then wait one minute in between.  It will rev its nuts off if you overdo it.

One can did not fully clear the carbon so I added Wynns "Extreme Powerful EGR cleaner" to a half tank of fuel.  That started to free it.  The next trick completely freed it. With the engine set to 1500 RPM I manually forced the Swirl valve open and this causes the induction to develop a full vacuum.  Keep you fingers out of the way IT WILL BITE!  The vacuum is then able to break any carbon deposit.  Another half-tank treatment of "Extreme Powerful EGR cleaner" then cleaned it up completely.  The car now runs like new and and 170 BHP has returned.

A main dealer would have charged £1,800 to correct this.  I spent £36 and two hours of my time.

Yes and also:

Take off you shoes and socks.  The room will now be empty now.

Count your toes from left to right, left foot then right foot, reverse and come back the other way.  Write down the number you obtain and then divide by 4.  This calculation will show that you have exactly 4.25 toes on each foot. 

How many feet in a yard?
Depends on how big your yard is! 

There is a gap between every toe so five toes equals four gaps.  With both feet that is eight gaps and with a toes either side of the last gaps that makes ten toes.  But then you find another gap between you big toes so that is nine gaps from ten toes so if there is a toe either side of every gap it means you have a hidden toe somewhere!
