So he paid £1000.00 legal fees! I wonder how much he saved booking a holiday out of the peak holiday times.

Also, they doubled the fine because he didn't pay the £60...naughty boy! Who are these pathetic people in authority?

The authorities brought the case and failed, I would hope cost were awarded to cover the defence cost as the court ruled there was no case to answer.

There was no evidence that the children were failed by their parents in any way and had excellent school records of attendance and achievment and the prosecution was ruled to be malicious. So I would think compensation is due.
