Nice work :).

Maybe next year with a bit more time to plan this really should be a mega event.

foggy

I have doubled booked myself for that day, air show at Fairford (I expect the roads will be packed around that area-don't know if your route back takes you any where near that). Will there be any trade stalls up there? I am looking for bits and pieces.

Sorry foggy,
I have asked Bkcc members to bring items for sale or exchange.
It was too late in the year to get this organised properly, but next year will be better.

WALNUT

The forcast dont look good for Sun. So dont wait for me at meeting place. I dont mind a bit of rain, but as Pete has already pointed out, with no mudgaurds it gets very messey for me and the car behind. Also makes me a bit of a target for Mr. Plod. And as for coming in the tin top, or tin box, in my case ( van ) It defeats the whole ideal of a run out. So if im not there have a good and safe day.

Tony

YZFMINI

I'll be meeting you all there. as got some thing i need to get done in the morning so wont be able to make it intime for the scenic route.
See you all at one ish.

As you say Tony ( Wallnut), the weather not looking good.

Possible dry start nr. Bristol but then driving into light rain all the way to Evesham.

Without wet weather gear ( and mudguards) it is quite understandable if you give this one a miss.

So, given the likelyhood of a wet day, how many of you would still be interested in the Run-out ?

Your replies  Yes or No please by 7:00 PM tonight.

Decision to abort run or carry-on to be posted after 9:00 tonight.

Hairy Santa

Hi Guys,
Tony (Walnut) and I have decided to pull out as well, looks like it is going to get worse over the day

Tony might pop up to the meeting spot  to see you all off, if anyone is still going

dont forget your brollies

WALNUT

I turned up at meeting point ( Only 5 min. run for me) just to give my car a bit of a run and see everyone off, all two of them. (bloody weather) Peter had route maps printed out for everyone, had they turned up, and a great route it looked. Dave Bence, was the other brave soul. He always seems up for anything what ever the weather, and he has no wet weather gear, other than what he wears. I believe there are a few others who were joining them on route. I hope the drive up is as good as it looked on the map. At least the roads should be quiet on a rotten day like today.

TUT....TUT....  :-\

I just been out and bought a large bag of chicken corn for all those who backed out.  CLUCK....CLUCK....CLUCK   ;)

"Well" you all missed out on a great day by the river, with not a drop of rain all day.  8)    A little breezy though.

Many thanks to the four who did turn up from the BKCC It was great to meet you, plus all those from the Bromsgrove MG club, And all agreed it was a great day and a beautiful spot by the river to hold a show.

It was good to have a chat and see other cars and their engines, especialy the mini of YZFMINI, quite a brave piece of mechanics.  Thanks for coming.   ;D

Now its head down for me, to arrange next years mega show of which I will post a date later when things are arranged.

Have posted a few pics, for those who didnt come, just to piss you off.   :-*

Bye the way, I didnt get my back side slapped either......Shame, I was looking forward to that.   :P

Sorry about the double picture, couldnt get it to delete.

Bulldog Bri

Good to see that some did make it  :-[ and the weather held off for you.

As you said a bit more planning and advertising it out in somemags even should makeit better next time. I've arranged a fair few runs and they aren't always well attended thats just how it goes.

Maybe you could join us for some of the run next weekend ::)

Denzle

Sorry Bri,
Cant make it just yet.   Lost a 4 year old grandson a couple of days ago, so things will have to go a miss for a while untill after the funeral.   But thanks for the offer.  I will drive down and meet up asap.     Denzle.

Just to add......This is the loss of the second grandson in two years.   11 year old and this 4 year old.   Very sad.

'The Gaffer'

Sorry to hear your bad news denzle :(

Well done to those that made the run, it really looks like a great place.

Firstly, at the meet-up start, we thought that we were in for our normal "convoy of one", but then that stalwart, Dave Bence turned up and we were waved off by the crowds (thanks Wallnut).

We encountered a few light showers in the first hour but from then on it remained dry for the rest of the day.

Without a long convoy to keep together, we were able to move along at an enjoyable comfortable pace. Consequently, we were early for our meet-up with Tony (mr tone). Fortunately he was also early and as we had plenty of time, we stopped en-route for couple of large pots of coffee at a "posh" hotel.
We were even half an hour early at the final lay-by, where we pulled-in and  regrouped for our mass entry ( Ha ha  )  to the site venue.

For those that couldn't make it, Denzle had gone to great lengths to set up the site with cordoned off areas, notices, a small army of marshals with their day-glo jackets and walkie-talkie phones. Thanks Denzle, it didn't go unnoticed.

Fortunately, there was a good turnout from the Bromsgrove MG Club - what a cheerful bunch they were. Ironically, one of their number ( and his wife) we had met, and had lunch with them at a French Classic Car event last year  !
It was a very pleasant venue and the food at the restaurant ( we went for the Sunday carvery) was both enjoyable and of good value.

I'd like to thank Dave and Tony for their company ( sorry about the unmarked humpbacked bridge Dave) and it was also good to see Colin and "miss" ( sorry, didn't catch her name) .

And finally Denzle,  and I'm sure that this comes from all the club members, may we send to you our condolences on your recent family bereavement.
