IVA Lead Times?

Hi all

I called VOSA to find out what the current lead times are to fix up an IVA inspection at the Bristol.  I spoke to a very unhelpful lady who refused to give me ANY kind of guidance - even when I asked whether it was weeks, months or years!

Has anyone got any fairly recent experience of the Bristol centre and how long it would take between application and inspection would be?  The woman did say that VOSA processes the paperwork within 14 days if I recall before they then send it to a specific centre.

I'm just trying to streamline my overall build schedule, as I don't want the frustration of having a completed car sitting in the garage waiting for the bureaucracy!  I'm guessing they don't like you to make an appointment and then call to postpone it?

A related subject, how long after IVA (assuming it passes) does the registration process take?

Cant help you with IVA time but registration was straight forward for me as on the off chance i took the car round to the dvla straight after it passed the sva and they were more than willing to test it that day i had to wait 2 hours but at the end of it i walked away with a reg no, which was fantastic so top marks to bristol dvla.

Hopefully I will be going through the prosess sometime this year. I will let you know as and when unless you beat me to it...

Btw, the Bristol test centre is in Avonmouth.

Had the same thing with VOSA on the phone, couldn't comment on the lead times at any test centre.

My forms are currently with VOSA for IVA so sometime soon I should be able to tell for one of my 2 nominated centres. I assume I will get the one that is least busy but you never know.

Will post up what I find when my reply comes through (they allow 10 working days to process the forms).

Is that a challenge Bulldog ;)

Richard - that'll be great if you could post back with the actual durations it all takes.  Cross fingers for you it's quick!
