Finally decided to go for a hard top, so should be a bit warmer this winter, attached is hopefully the end look I am going for.

where are you gonna store it when it's off, in the garage roof ?, I was going to make a frame up if I ever got one, to hold it in shape whilst it was up there

Hi Pete, been looking at small wall mounted Winch's so I can store above the car when not in use and also mean I can remove the hard top by myself. Thats the plan but will wait and see what to do once I have the hard top. Hopefully ready in the next few weeks.

Don't like tehm much, but the one you have planned looks Looooaads better

Looks superb Tony. I never realised tops like this existed. It must be heavy if you need a winch to lift it off...

I think the one Tony is going for is from Dave Brookes

He has spent several years developing it, even has a toughened heated rear window - it's the best one ever been produced and really does suit the Cobra

There's an outfit the markets a whole range of hoists, slings and stands for all sorts of car hardtops called Toplift :- www.toplift.se.
I thought that to have an electric hoist was a bit too much of a luxury so I went to a local tradional hardware shop ( Handyman - Keynsham) and purchased some galvanised "washing line pullies and some rope - not the plastic covered washing line stuff.
I must confess though, I havn't got around to fixing it up yet.

I used the washing line pullys and rope for years to lift the camper shell off my El Camino, makes it a one man operation and stores the top out of the way.  Use a pully on the hook end and the overhead to reduce the effort.
