Modifying an Airbox

After attempting to fit an AB Airbox last weekend failed (see link below), I'm thinking of modifying the airbox by cutting a section out of the bottom so that it clears the engine cradle (see photo) and then fibreglassing a new section in again so that it clears the engine cradle.

The photo shows the airbox resting on the engine cradle this stops the airbox seating against the head and therefore making it impossible to fit the carbs back on.

But I've never attempted fibreglassing is this easy to put a section back into the airbox or should I just sell the airbox and try something else?

fullpint

No nails  ;) ;) ;).. LOL.. I'm sure firbeglass is easy to work with. Not as if you need a show-room finish.
You could always sell it to me cheap  ;D ;D ;D.. Stick with it mate, I'm sure you will get there in the end.

I'm sure AB would tell you that you would be upsetting the airflow if you changed the design. He is quite hot on his air resonance and swirling above the carbs. Best give him a call before yo attempt a mod.
