Not best chuffed  >:( >:(

Thought I'd sorted the brakes, new MC, sorted a remote reservoir, bled the brakes.

Good pedal feel, took the car out for a run and after about 15 miles the front's stopped working again! Last time I had this happen (previous thread) I stripped the MC down and the front piston seemed to have stuck in the 'off' position. Couldn't see a reason for this so cleaned it all and refitted it and it all seemd fine. But it obviously isn't

Went back to the car this morning to do some more jobs and the brakes seem fine again???

So what does the collective reckon it could be? I thought maybe something to do with the MC getting hot after a good run but I don't really know.

I have ordered another MC from a different supplier and a new reservoir but I am hoping it doesn't end up with the same issue!

Not happy though, this was going to be my first year at Stoneleigh in the Locost but it was not to be

Cheers.

:( long shot which im sure you have checked...
Do the pistons travel well in the calipers? May be worth taking one off at a time and pump the brakes.
Then same again on the other side just to be sure..

Hairy Santa

are the front brakes binding at all and getting real hot, then when they cool down working ok again ( sugests build up of pressure)

try changing the outlet pipes on the mc around (front to back )if you can, just to see if you get the same effect

Bulldog Bri

I'm wondering if there could be something getting in the pipework itself blocking the flow somehow.

I wondered that too Bri, but why would the fronts then work OK again after everything sooled down?

It's doin me ed in!! :(

'The Gaffer'

Upgrade to braided hoses if you haven't already, old standard flexible hoses distort with age.

satchellm

any luck in sorting it yet JB?

YellaBelly

Yep! Sorted now, thanks to advice from Camber Dave (Track Solutions) it turned out to be a bad flare on the front brake outlet which I remade and all seems fine now (I hope :o)

Just got to sort out my knacked speedo now :(
