Just had my first unlucky trackday at castle combe today. Went out on my first flying lap only to have the Pully wheel on the new alternator becoming bent & there for losing my belt again.
The belt was fine & was recovered but it was game over for the day due to unable to replace or fix the pully wheel on the alternator. (belt was not too tight as I checked that only yesterday)
As it is a new alternator I'm wondering if it was a dodgy pully wheel as I've had some problem's lately with belts coming off, though it went around combe last week without any problems.
1,  Has anyone else had problems with the belt coming off & what they did to fix the problem? It could be the fact that it is a faulty pully wheel as i've only had this prblem since the new alternator was fitted? So the first thing I will do is replace that but if anyone knows of any other reason it could be then suggestions will be welcome?

2, I'm also wondering if anyone has booked castle combe's normal trackdays & if they are worth it as I would like to get another one in this year before the weather turns? (though we haven't had that good a year this year).

Suggestions on both questions would be very much appreciated even if it's not good news?   :)

Get a BEC mate cause we dont have belts  :D All joking apart I'm gutted for you. When I turned up I really thought you were just getting the Westy off the tralier..
I would take it back and ask for a replacement plus a discount...

YZFMINI

ah bad luck mate. at least you got a full day the other week..

I am glad it was this one & not last week Col. I found out you only get four sessions for the day when I got there & they only last about 10mins so I only missed 40mins in total. which wasn't alot of time for the cost of it.

Well just to up date you guys.
I have replaced the alternator pully wheel on the new alternator with an old pully wheel which is an old cast iron one (at least I think it is?) from an old alternator my local garage gave me.
It's definitely heavier & the teeth on it are much deeper so hopefully thats problem solved & on more belt falling off. (since the new alternater was fitted).  :)

Might even book soon time at combe to try it out.  ;D

Fingers crossed for you. Mind you surely you can go for a local run to check it out before lashing out money on track-time at expensive Combe  :D :D

Thanks guys. It has had afew test runs now, along the ring road & M32 & I will be taking it out all week to make sure.  :D
