Spoke with Dave Doom this morning, he was round with Lucky Ed as both of them were leaving this afternoon to do a track day at Oulton Park tomorrow.  Only problem was Lucky Ed had no brakes!!! :o :o :o

He seemed to feel that they may be useful at Oulton.  Dave said they had tried everything and were still scratching their heads.  I am sure they will get there in the end but LUCKY ED STRIKES AGAIN!!! ;D ;D ;D

Ed, please fill us all in on what happened.......................... (to be continued)

Well what a fine pair we make Ed! My car won't start, and yours won't stop! :)

Hoping to pick up a new starter motor tommorrow

Lucky Ed

Have some faith Ken - you know everything works out ok in the end...................just ;D

Went for a quick blast on Sat to check everything was ok before loading up to go to Oulton Park on Mon afternoon. When I got home the rear brakes were locked solid and tracked it down to the master cylinder. After stripping and reassembling I couldn't get any pedal at all - panic :o. Got on the blower on Sun morning and found a new one that I picked up on Monday morning, got it back together by 11 and Dave Doom came round to help bleed the brakes, an hour and a half later still couldn't get the air out so in desperation we took off the rear calipers completely and inverted them to get the nipples at the top... bingo brakes  ;D  Got loaded up and were on the road by 3pm and after very heavy traffic and stop/go on the M6 we got to the B&B next to the circuit only 4.5 hours later :o

Tuesday turned out to be a bit different - the sun shone all day, Oulton Park was immaculate and brilliantly run by Dr. Palmers MSV group. The day itself was run by BHP and were very efficient and friendly and come highly recommended and the circuit itself was awesome - difficult to learn with blind crests and corners, tight chicanes and quick changes in elevation that you can't see on tv. Both cars ran slicks all day without fault (thats not a typo Ken), there were NO queues, virtually no stoppages and a perfect number of cars on track. I used a tanker load of fuel but what the hell ;D. Dave Doom was unbelievably fast and had an ever growing fan club in the garage asking what in the hell this handsome car was 8) ;D

All in all it was a perfect day that will be hard to beat. If you haven't been to Oulton GO!. Soz no photos any spare time was spent tipping jerry cans upside down :o

The ongoing saga of Lucky Ed & Dave Doom is to be continued at Pembrey in mid September...................... ;)

Glad all went well Ed. The circuit sounds fun.

Hope to see you at Pembrey.

I can only repeat what Lucky Ed says above - that was a fabulous day at Oulton Park, probably the most enjoyable track day I've done since Spa ;D

After the last minute panic on Monday and the rather tedious journey up, everything went perfectly, although I didn't let Ed anywhere near my side of the garage as it was number 13 :o

I've put the photos from the day here:

Really looking forward to Pembrey - a small but very challenging and enjoyable track. Hope to see some other BKCC members there :)

Lucky - I never doubted you at all.  It was the influence of Dave Doom that concerned me!!! :o :o :o

Great pics Dave. Had you just overtaken the Ferrari and Radical?

I wish ;D

Those 2 cars and another Radical were blindingly quick - they'd just appear in your mirror out of nowhere 8)
